We will be shutting host4 down at 12:45PM EST for approximately 15-20 minutes. This is in response to an issue that has arisen with the new storage array and to prevent another extended downtime from occurring.
Update: This started out when an alarm on our storage array went off this morning indicating that the one of the drives in the array was failing.. We have found a problem with the control card for the array that was causing this and Tuesdays problem. We had to shut the server down, to replace the faulty card and also we replaced all the drive cables to help ensure the problem was fixed.
We took the server down at about 1:00PM EST expecting the maintenance to take about 15-20 minutes. Unfortunately the maintenance took much long then expected due to some complications.
Due to the problems with the storage array some customers may be seeing recent changes to there web site have disappeared. If this is the case, please let us know and we will retrieve your files/databases for you from our backup array. Please let us know exactly what files/databases you need restored and we will be doing these restores this evening.
We will be sending out an email this weekend to all the customer effected by the last two outages explaining the problem in more detail and also we will be providing a credit for a free month of hosting.
